Folk & Myth: 11/5 - 11/9

Please study for your MIDTERM --> Friday, 11/9


On the midterm, you will need to:

  • identify characters on cards 1-82
  • know BOTH the Greek and Roman names for characters with two names listed
  • match the major gods/goddesses (Olympians, Demeter, Dionysus) with their major myths, symbols, etc
  • have a working knowledge of all of the characters we've read about
  • define archetype and cosmogony (and come up with mythical examples of each)
  • recognize allusions to mythology/identify the original tale
