---Also select a new outside reading book (free choice), pick it up from the library or bookstore, and bring it to class on Friday.

TUES: Don't forget to post to the Black Boy Discussion Board on turnitin.com by Friday at midnight. You will first need to register for the site (see last week's post for directions).

WED: Finish book 1 (ch 13 & 14) for Friday, 10/14

THURS: Most of you still need to post to turnitin.com. In order to get credit, you need to respond to the topic or to one of your classmates by tomorrow night at midnight.

Select a passage that you think is important in pp. 50-150. Briefly summarize the passage, including at least one key quote. Then, discuss why you think it’s important: does it develop a theme? It is a pivotal event? Does it develop a character? Be as specific and thorough as possible. In other words, make it clear that you’ve read the book.
